Dear Linc,
For the game tomorrow night, I’m gonna work up the nerve to see if I can leave my shift early by fifteen minutes. It’s not much but it might be just the right time I need to get there on time if not sooner.
As I’ve written before, I never seem to remember the pitching rotation. I hardly even check it when I’m buying ballgame tickets, mostly because I don’t usually pick games based who is pitching but what fits in my schedule and also price. This is contrary to how my coworker joked to me the other day about how I’m “obsessed” with you. I know it was just teasing but privately I bristled. I’ve worked so hard to distinguish my fandom — despite the many dirty jokes I’ve made to Ally and Spencer about me and you and a mattress. What are friends for?
Apparently I have been to the probable pitchers webpage so often that Google won’t display the exact count of visitations anymore. In its own language, Google says I have been there… a lot. Hm. Weird, considering this season I haven’t gone to a lot of games.
In fact, I am missing your start by one game. I am not at all surprised that they are saving you for the Dodger series. I won’t be at any of those games, of course. Rivalry games are always too expensive, plus I have an event to work that night. Anyway, I can always root for free.
