SABR 42, the Society for American Baseball Research convention, begins today in Minneapolis. If you’re in town for the festivities, I’m sure I’ll see you at some point during the next few days. Please say hello if you see me first. If you have any questions, or if you need recommendations or suggestions while you’re visiting my adopted hometown, don’t hesitate to drop me a line on twitter @mighty_flynn.
A bit of unsolicited advice: To truly appreciate Minneapolis, you need to get into the neighborhoods and partake in Upper-Midwest tavern culture. I suggest you escape the concrete heat of downtown for Mighty Flynn’s AL Central* Happy Hour at Grumpy’s Nordeast on Friday before the Twins game. Grumpy’s NE is a short cab ride from the Marriott and Target Field. We’ll be there from 2ish-6ish.
* AL West, AL East, and all NL fans are also welcome

I miss Minneapolis. Going there in 2009 was the first time I’d ever been in the midwest. I’m such a coastal kid (Maryland raised, San Francisco now). Minneapolis was such a pleasant town. I only stayed for three days, which was not nearly enough time to explore.
